Some have termed Barbuto, Jonathan Waxman’s latest restaurant, an Italian brasserie. The simply prepared and simply delicious fare features oven-roasted meats, grilled fish, peasant-style pastas, and such house specialties as shaved asparagus salad and velvety chicken liver bruschetta. The scene is casually chic and lively, with its animated patrons often spilling from the open, industrial-style dining room onto the sidewalk.
