Aptly named for the famous Parisian market district, Les Halles offers authenticity by the forkful. Complete with an on-site butcher shop and meat showcase, this Gramercy Park gem isn’t at all shy about accommodating the carnivorously-inclined. Perhaps you’ll catch a glimpse of iconic chef Anthony Bourdain, or instead, as we usually do, revel in the excessive yet financially approachable wine list. Aside from the ubiquitous beef plates, we adore such brasseries classics as escargot, frisee aux lardons, cassoulet, and a double (or triple) order of crispy pomme frites. While there are additional Les Halles restaurants downtown, in D.C., and even Miami, our favorite is this irreplaceable original.
