Taverna Santi glows. Whether you’re enjoying the country Italian fare inside by the massive stone fireplace or outdoors under the dappled sunshine, you’ll be happy and well taken care of by Doug Swett and his superb team. Located in northern Sonoma County, in the heart of Alexander Valley, Santi is truly a destination restaurant. Crafted with an artisan hand, some favorite dishes include housemade salumi, young chicken cooked under a brick, spaghettini al sugo, and braised lamb shank. The wine list showcases Californian and Italian varietals, and includes regional favorites as well as hand-picked selections from Italy. Note: Wednesday nights are for “locals” and feature “honest fare at honest prices”. A few doors south is Diavola (Italian for female devil), Santi’s more casual sibling. Look for pizza pies, simple roasts, and other delicious treats you might sell your soul for.
