The Boxwood Café, located in the ultra-glam Berkley Hotel in Knightsbridge, serves excellent fare in a modern, metropolitan milieu. Designed by Barbara Barry (who also created San Francisco restaurant Michael Mina’s sophisticated look), the subtle interior provides a contrasting backdrop for the restaurant’s animated patrons, hip house music, and bold, fresh food. Part of the Gordon Ramsey restaurant group, The Boxwood Café lives up to its owner’s exacting reputation. Two favorites are the crab, chili, wild garlic, and parsley tagliolini and the veal and foie gras burger (Ramsey’s not about to bow to animal rights advocates). The wine list is exceptional.
